Privacy Policy — DisTech School Dismissal

DisTech is a school dismissal management platform built by Megatech Consulting Inc. ("Megatech", "we", "us") and used by schools to manage student pickup and check-in.
Information we collect
From guardians, staff, and authorized drivers:
- Name, phone number, and email address
- Relationship to the student(s) they are authorized to collect
- A photo, if a driver chooses to add one to help staff identify them
About students:
- Name, class/homeroom, and pickup method (car, bus, or walker)
- A record of check-ins, arrivals, and releases, including date, time, and which staff member or authorized adult was involved
How we use this information
- To verify your identity when you sign in, using a one-time code sent by email or text message
- To let schools manage who is authorized to collect each student
- To give school staff a real-time view of pickup activity
- To maintain a safety and accountability record of pickups, viewable by school administrators
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share the minimum necessary information with:
- Resend, to deliver sign-in codes by email
- Twilio, to deliver sign-in codes by text message
- Supabase, our database provider, which stores this information on our behalf
Each school's data is kept separate and is not shared with, or visible to, any other school using DisTech.
Text messages
If you provide a phone number, you may receive a text message containing a one-time sign-in code. Message frequency depends on how often you sign in. Message and data rates may apply. You can decline to provide a phone number and use email instead.
Data retention
Pickup and check-in records are kept as part of each school's safety record. Removing a student, guardian, or driver from a school's roster does not delete their history — it marks them as inactive, so the record of who was authorized to collect a child at any point in time remains accurate.
Text messaging
Mobile opt-in data and consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers collected for sign-in verification and dismissal notifications are used only to operate the DisTech service for your school. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance.
